Napoli\u2019s 2025 opens with a clash against Fiorentina. Given that their direct rivals – Atalanta, Inter, Juventus and Milan \u2013 are away competing in the Italian Super Cup, both sides will be keen to get some breathing space from their direct rivals. Napoli are keen to make amends for last time out, and they\u2019re well on track to doing so \u2013 so far Antonio Conte\u2019s men have picked up 41 points in Serie A, which is 13 more than at the halfway stage in 2023\/24. Following a hiccup against Lazio the Azzurri have bounced back, stringing together three wins on the bounce. Meanwhile, Raffaele Palladino’s side ended 2024 with two defeats and a draw, having won nine and draw one of their previous ten. As for their record against Napoli, the Viola have beaten them 55 times in Serie A \u2013 only against Bologna (57) have they recorded more victories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a bedding-in period Raffaele Palladino’s Fiorentina have really begun to take shape, breaking records in the process \u2013 the Viola hadn\u2019t gone at least 10 consecutive games without defeat since 2007. The Tuscan\u2019s attack is the fourth most prolific this season, having scored 31 goals, with only Inter, Atalanta and Lazio ahead of them in this regard. It boasts the third-best scoring percentage in Serie A this season (14%), behind only Inter and Atalanta, and 12 different players have chipped in with goals – only Inter (15) and Lazio (14) can beat this. As for their defence, Palladino’s side are rock-solid. They\u2019ve only conceded 15 goals, a record only bettered by Napoli (12) this season. What\u2019s more, in the last 30 minutes of games Fiorentina are yet to concede a single goal so far in 2024\/25. Napoli\u2019s two main concerns will be Fiorentina\u2019s counter attacking goal threat \u2013 they\u2019ve scored four times on the break so far this season \u2013 and set pieces, from which the Viola have netted 12 times, with only Inter (14) bettering their record in Serie A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The young Moise Kean who burst onto the scene of Italian football a few years ago is a distant memory. The striker has now grown up and has experienced a rebirth at Fiorentina, fully buying into Palladino\u2019s tactical approach and fully back in the groove. Kean\u2019s forward play this season has varied between running in behind and dropping deep, proving a nuisance for whoever he\u2019s up against. His stats speak for themselves \u2013 he\u2019s scored 15 times in all competitions this season, more than any other Serie A player. Kean has claimed 11 goals in 17 games so far this season, as many as he got in the previous three seasons in Serie A combined (11 goals in 79 matches). Operating behind Kean is Riccardo Sottil, who\u2019s scored five goals in 21 matches in all competitions this season and has never done better in terms of goals in a single season (five goals in 35 games in 2023\/24). Yacine Adli is another player to watch out for \u2013 the Algerian has provided four assists so far this season, equalling Youssouf Fofana, Nicolo Barella and Christian Pulisic\u2019s Serie A records in 2024\/25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
