Statistics and key facts ahead of Napoli\u2019s home showdown with Fiorentina<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Antonio Conte\u2019s men will face Fiorentina on Sunday. Despite Raffaele Palladino\u2019s team\u2019s inconsistent performances \u2013 having suffered seven defeats in 13 league matches since mid-December (W4, D2) \u2013 the Viola have won 55 of their 149 Serie A encounters against Napoli (D41, L53), second only to their victories against Bologna (57) in the top flight. Fiorentina\u2019s record in Naples also suggests that they will be tough opponents. They have won 50% of their last six matches in Campania (three out of six), including their most recent victory in October 2023. They now have the chance to secure back-to-back wins at the Stadio Maradona for the first time since 1994\/95 under Claudio Ranieri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiorentina: clinical and ruthless in front of goal<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Napoli and Fiorentina are set for a tactical battle between two vastly different coaches. On one side, Raffaele Palladino, an emerging coach; on the other, Antonio Conte, a seasoned veteran of Italian football. However, a key moment has seemingly shaped Fiorentina\u2019s season\u2014the home match against Inter, which was suspended last December. Until then, Fiorentina had a solid defensive record, conceding only ten goals in 13 matches, while only Juventus (seven) and Napoli (nine) had conceded fewer \u2013 averaging just 0.8 goals per game. Since then, however, they have conceded 18 goals in 14 matches, raising their average to 1.3 per game, ranking as the 13th-worst defence in this period, along with Cagliari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Injuries have also played a role in Fiorentina\u2019s struggles. Under pressure, the team increasingly relies on long passes from the goalkeeper directly to the forwards. In 2025, David de Gea ranks third among Serie A goalkeepers for successful long passes (30), behind Wladimiro Falcone (38) and Stefano Turati (39). Despite having only 321 shots this season (ranking in mid-table, alongside Parma), Fiorentina are the most accurate team in front of goal (51%, level with Juventus) and third in conversion rate (13%), behind only Inter (14%) and Atalanta (15%). Napoli must also be wary of set-pieces, as Fiorentina have scored the most headed goals in 2025, with four of their six headed goals this season coming this calendar year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiorentina will find it difficult to break down Napoli\u2019s solid defence, which has conceded only 22 goals, just one more than Juventus (21). However, Conte\u2019s side can be vulnerable to swift counter-attacks and Fiorentina have the players to exploit this weakness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leading the charge is Moise Kean, who is enjoying the best goal-scoring season of his career with 15 league goals. If he finds the back of the net against Napoli, he will become only the second Italian player in the last 12 seasons to net more than 15 goals in a single Serie A campaign for Fiorentina, following Giuseppe Rossi (16 in 2013\/14).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antonio Conte will also be concerned about Kean\u2019s scoring record against top-four teams this season: two goals against Inter and one each against Atalanta and Juventus. Lucas Beltran is another threat, having already scored four goals this season, three of which have come in away matches, equalling his personal record for goals in a single Serie A campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palladino is also expected to get a key midfielder back, Yacine Adli, who is instrumental in controlling space alongside Danilo Cataldi and distributing the ball accurately. Notably, two of his four assists this season have led to Kean goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
