Tuesday’s game at the Stadio Via Del Mare is a match-up between Serie A’s two most southern clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Napoli have met Lecce 20 times in Serie A, with five Lecce wins (most recently in 2010\/11: 2-1), eight draws (the last one coming in 2008\/09: 1-1) and seven Napoli victories (the most recent in 2024\/25: 2-0).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Napoli have scored at least one goal on each of their last 11 trips to Salerno, racking up 19 total goals in the process. The last time they failed to score at Lecce was in a 2-0 defeat in 1997\/98.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, the Azzurri have triumphed on each of their last five visits to the Stadio Via Del Mare. Lecce’s last home win in this fixture was on 8 May 2011 \u2013 a 2-1 success with goals by Daniele Corvia and Javier Chevanton, Giuseppe Mascara netting for Napoli in between.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last player to hit the target for Lecce at home to Napoli was Federico Di Francesco, the son of current boss Eusebio Di Francesco: that goal came in the 52nd minute of Lecce 1-2 Napoli on 7 April 2023. 218 minutes have passed since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coaches and players<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Eusebio Di Francesco and Antonio Conte are facing off for the 11th time as coaches in Serie A. The Napoli boss’s record against his opposite number is six wins, three draws and one defeat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Di Francesco’s only victory over Conte came in the Champions League, when Roma beat Chelsea 3-0 in October 2016 thanks to goals by Stephan El Shaarawy (2) and Diego Perotti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eusebio Di Francesco has never won a Serie A home game as Lecce coach. From ten games in charge – in the 2011\/12 season and the current one – he has recorded three draws and seven defeats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conte was born in Lecce, came through the club’s youth ranks and played for the senior side between July 1985 and November 1991. He made his top-flight debut aged just 16, on 6 April 1986, in a 1-1 home draw with Pisa, and went on to help them earn promotion to Serie A in the 1987\/88 season. He made 104 appearances and scored two goals in all competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matteo Politano has scored once against Lecce in his career, in a 4-0 Napoli win on 30 September 2023 (Leo Ostigard, Victor Osimhen and Gianluca Gaetano the other scorers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rasmus Hojlund has also found the target against Lecce before: as an Atalanta player in a 2-1 home defeat on 19 February 2023 (Assan Ceesay and Alexis Blin with the goals for Lecce).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scott McTominay’s strike against Inter was his 14th in the Italian top flight, making him the joint highest-scoring Scotsman, level with Bologna’s Lewis Ferguson, since Serie A became a single national league (in 1929).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wladimiro Falcone has played 122 Serie A games for Lecce \u2013 ranking him fourth in club’s all-time top-flight appearance chart. Lorenzo Stovini is third with 125.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
