It\u2019s Napoli\u2019s sixth appearance in the Italian Super Cup, a competition that the team won in 1990\/91 and 2014\/15, beating Juventus on both occasions.
The Azzurri\u2019s record in the Super Cup stands at two wins, one draw and three losses out of the six matches they have played, with 12 goals scored and 10 conceded.
Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Mario Rui and Matteo Politano are the players who have made the most appearances in the competition, with three games each. Napoli\u2019s top goal-scorers are Antonio Careca, Gonzalo Higuain, Andrea Silenzi and Alessio Zerbin: they all scored two goals and they were always braces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is Milan\u2019s 14th time playing in the Italian Super Cup, a competition they won in 1988\/89 1992\/93, 1993\/94; 1994\/95, 2004\/05, 2011\/12, 2016\/17 and 2024\/25. No other team have won as many Super Cup editions as Milan via penalty shoot-outs (2), once against Juventus in 2016\/17 and once in 1994\/95 against Sampdoria. Milan\u2019s record in the Super Cup stands at seven wins, three draws and four losses out of the 14 matches they have played, with 21 goals scored and 17 conceded.
Alessandro Costacurta and Paolo Maldini are the players who have made the most appearances in the competition, with six games each. Milan won the first ever Italian Super Cup that was played abroad (which was their third win in club history): a 1-0 win for the team coached by Fabio Capello on 21 August 1993 in Washington D.C.
Milan\u2019s top scorer in the competition is Andriy Shevchenko with three goals, the only player who has ever scored a hat-trick in the Super Cup: a 3-0 win over Lazio in the 2004\/05 edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only Super Cup semi-finals played by Milan were in the 2024\/25 edition, when the Rossoneri beat Juventus 1-2: it was a comeback win after a goal by Kenan Yildiz with an own goal by Federico Gatti and then the decisive goal by Christian Pulisic.
The only Super Cup semi-finals played by Napoli were in the 2023\/24 edition, when the Azzurri beat Fiorentina 3-0: Giovanni Simeone scored the opener, which was followed by two goals by Zerbin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There have been 10 competitive encounters between Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri: Five wins for the Napoli coach, three for Allegri and two draws.
This is Antonio Conte\u2019s third Italian Super Cup appearance as coach: in the previous editions he won twice, namely in the 2012\/13 and 2013\/14 editions (on both occasions Juventus was coached by Massimo Carrera).
Antonio Conte made two appearances as a player in the competition, both while playing for Juventus: he scored one goal and won the 1995\/96 and 1997\/98 editions.
This will be Massimiliano Allegri\u2019s eighth Super Cup appearance as coach: he has won three times (2011\/12 with Milan, 2015\/16 and 2018\/19 with Juventus) and lost the four other editions.
Massimiliano Allegri is the fixture\u2019s former player: he played seven times for Napoli from July 1997 to February 1998, without ever scoring.
Matteo Politano and Giovanni Di Lorenzo are the players in the current Napoli squad with the most appearances in the competition: three each.
Fikayo Tomori is the player in the current Milan squad with the most appearances in the tournament: three, two of which were in last year\u2019s edition.
