Napoli booked their place in the Super Cup final with a deserved 2-0 defeat of AC Milan.

David Neres broke the deadlock towards the end of the first half when he turned in from close range following some clever work and a low cross by Rasmus Hojlund.

Soon after the hour mark, Hojlund got on the score sheet himself with a superb angled strike into the bottom corner.\u00a0

The result means Napoli will face off against the winner of the other semi-final (Inter or Bologna) in Monday’s showpiece final.

“I really must hand it to these players who are playing back-to-back games and always try to give their all. Tonight I saw a team determined to produce a real performance and honour the Scudetto badge on their shirts.

\u201cWe beat a Milan side in excellent form and we won deservedly. Now we want to give the final a shot and try to honour this trophy in full.\u201d
