Massimiliano Allegri faced the media on Tuesday, the day before Napoli's visit to Monza. Below you can read a selection of his comments

On his touchline ban

“I've decided not to appeal. I'm more disappointed about us not getting three points in a game we deserved to win than the ban itself. I'm sorry I won't be able to sit in the dugout against Monza and Juventus but I have a very capable backroom team who will be able to guide the players.”

On injuries

“There's not much for us to say right now. We have to work hard to improve our performances and our league position. We're getting back some of the players we'd missed but unfortunately [Benoit] Badiashile has been sidelined now. We need to try and get everyone back so that we make full use of our squad. We're not getting the rub of the green at the moment but we have to keep ourselves afloat while we wait for the players who are out to return.

"Tomorrow we'll have [Antonio] Vergara with us. He's a young lad with tremendous potential. He can score goals from a wide position but he can also play in other positions where he can roam more and run at the goal."

On Napoli's ball management

“We must do better with our distribution and our ball management. There were times against Roma when we didn't make the right decisions and we overdid things instead of just keeping the ball.”

On Monza

“Monza have a similar playing style to Roma in the way they set up man for man. It will be very tactical and we must make sure we read the game properly."

On the team's belief

“We must believe in our ability and of course results boost belief. We're lagging behind in the standings so we must work hard to climb back up one game at a time and start turning moments in our favour.”
