The captain spoke to the media
Giovanni Di Lorenzo spoke to the media on the eve of the clash against Arsenal.
“It’ll be an exciting challenge against one of the big names in European football and we’re already focused on what we need to show on the pitch tomorrow. Unfortunately, it’s still very hot, so we’re not at 100% due to the weather too, but we have to give everything to get a good result.
“It’s a very prestigious fixture that comes at the right time because you want to bounce back after a defeat and play again straight away to deliver a big performance.
“We’ve gone back over the mistakes we made at San Siro. We certainly have to improve tomorrow evening because when you face opponents at this level, you can’t give them anything and you have to put in the perfect performance.
“The coach is urging us to be more aggressive and to know how to dig in when we don’t have possession. At the moment, we’re not all in peak condition physically, so sometimes our legs don’t feel as fresh. However, even if we have to work hard, we have to do it all together and manage the different phases of the game better, including by defending with the ball and controlling possession.
“It’s still the start of the season. We’ve been working with [Max] Allegri for a month and a half and we’re trying to take on board his tactical instructions as quickly as possible. We’re confident and optimistic because this team has potential. It’ll be important to come away with a positive result tomorrow and get back on track.”
