New signing Bartosz Bereszynski spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss on Wednesday about how it feels to join the table-toppers and wear the blue of Napoli.
“I’m thrilled to be at Napoli. It’s an honour to wear this jersey. When the club called me, I was initially surprised and also delighted. It was fantastic news to hear that a prestigious club like Napoli was interested in me. I’m now playing for a team that is among the best in Italy.
“The lads in the dressing room have made me feel welcome. There are some great guys here who are wonderful and also humble footballers. I’m here to get better and learn new things to improve my game.”
What did Luciano Spalletti say to you when you arrived?
“He explained the tactical set-up straight away because I was used to playing in a different system. He keeps an eye on me and helps me out on a daily basis as part of my adaptation phase. We’re playing twice a week, so you have to do things quickly to get up to speed in this squad.”
The match in Genoa against Samp must’ve been emotional for you.
“It was. I spent six great years at Sampdoria, so it was special to return there as an opposition player. That’s where I started out on my path to establishing myself in Italian football. I’m now a Napoli player and I’ll try to call on all my experience for this team.”
There’s a big game coming up the day after tomorrow.
“Juventus are a very good side and I know how important this fixture is here in Naples. I know [Piotr] Zielinski and he explained to me all about the atmosphere that gets created here for this match and its significance across the whole city.
“We’ll be playing at a packed-out stadium and we have a common goal with our fans. It’ll be a wonderful match at an incredible ground. We’ll go for the win and we’ll give everything to claim the three points.”
