Francesco Calzona commented on Napoli’s loss to Barcelona on Tuesday night.
“We’re disappointed because we came here to win and we wanted to get through to the quarter-finals.
“We made a lot of mistakes that helped an already strong opponent. We lost the ball too many times at the start and that affected our performance. We went 2-0 down very quickly. After that it gets difficult to get back up.
“Then we started to get the game going again. We deserved another goal, but we were paying for the start of the match.
“We didn’t mark their players well enough when attacking, and we allowed so many of their counter-attacks in the second half. That’s something we need to work on.”
A foul on Victor Osimhen in the penalty box?
“It seems a clear penalty to me from watching the footage on the TV and seeing it live. I don’t understand why they didn’t use VAR. We also had that chance by [Jesper] Lindstrom. It’s a shame because we could’ve found an equaliser.”
