On Friday evening four Napoli players – Nikita Contini, Luca Marianucci, Pasquale Mazzocchi and Giovane met with the fans Castel di Sangro's Piazza del Plebiscito.
Here's some of what they had to say:
Mazzocchi: “We always love meeting the fans on occasions like this. We can feel your love and we're happy to be with you. When I got the call from Napoli, my dad cried: it was such a beautiful moment to see a son wear this shirt after all the sacrifices made. I try to get on with everyone and I try to help the foreign players feel at home, making them understand what it means to be here.”
Contini: “I've been a Napoli player for almost 18 years now. It's a massive privilege and a huge honour. Being one of the dressing-room leaders is a source of pride. I'm grateful to the team and the club. I try to make sure I'm always ready. I hope you kids can one day experience the joy of playing for Napoli.”
Giovane: “When I found out I was joining Napoli I was thrilled. I spoke to everyone who cares about me. It's a dream to be here and play for this club. I'm so happy. Juan Jesus was a massive help to me in settling in. My dad saw Careca play and I know he was a top player. Playing in the Champions League will be a dream come true. I can play anywhere really but I prefer it on the right flank.”
Marianucci: “It was a big step for me to move from Empoli to Napoli. I've grown as a player and as a person. Training with top players helps you develop yourself. I've come back to do my bit. I hope to be able to celebrate with all of you.”
