Victor Osimhen's Nigeria are through to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations after a shootout triumph over South Africa.

The Napoli striker won a penalty midway through the second half, which captain William Troost-Ekong converted to put the Super Eagles in front.

Osimhen thought he had wrapped it up five minutes from time only for the goal to be disallowed by VAR.

Teboho Mokoena then scored a late spot-kick to send the game to extra time.

Osimhen was substituted off after 110 minutes but Nigeria went on to win 4-2 on penalties.

Nigeria will face tournament hosts Ivory Coast in the final on Sunday.
