It was a dominant display from Luciano Spalletti’s men on Tuesday evening as they put two past the hosts Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie. Napoli could have scored a number of goals early on, with Hirving Lozano hitting the post and Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp making a great save from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s penalty. However, as he has done so many times this season, it was Victor Osimhen who found the net first and gave the Azzurri a deserved first-half lead. After the break, a red card for striker Randal Kolo Muani added to Frankfurt’s woes and just minutes later, Napoli doubled their lead in what was a beautifully worked goal. Giovanni Di Lorenzo passed the ball into the bottom corner after a magical backheel from Kvaratskhelia. The game ended with Napoli heading into the return leg at home with a two-goal advantage.
