Luciano Spalletti’s decision to start Elif Elmas paid dividends as the midfielder popped up with the winner in Bergamo.
“I’m pleased with the goal and the win. I’d like to thank the coach for showing faith in me.
“I found out I’d be starting a few hours ahead of kick-off. I was a bit tense because I hadn’t played in the previous two games and I made sure I was ready. The team comes before all else and I’ll always my all whenever I take to the pitch.
“We’re a tight-knit and close squad. We have a group of great players here. Replacing Kvara was a big responsibility, but I’m pleased he’s here at Napoli. He’s an exceptional guy and I try to help him on a daily basis with settling in because he’s a year younger than me and is still very young.
“We’re thrilled and want to keep going. Whoever comes into the team is making a key contribution and we’re showing what we can do.”
