Napoli proved they are capable of more than just nice football by digging deep and scrapping to get the win over Udinese, says Eljif Elmas.
The Macedonian netted Napoli's third and ultimately decisive goal as Udinese pulled two back late on to make it a nervy finale, with the Azzurri holding on to claim a 3-2 victory.
“We got off to a great start and were 3-0 up after an hour, then Udinese got themselves back in it,” the 23-year-old noted. “We showed we have character as well as quality and fought until the end for the three points.
"I scored a nice goal but the main thing is it helped us win. Frank played me in with a great ball and I ran towards goal and shot. I'm delighted because it was an important goal and I wanted to celebrate it with the fans in the Curva.
“I'm always happy when I can repay the boss. I've played in different positions in midfield and attack so far. I hope to be able to do more for the team so that we can carry on like this.
“We're more like a family than a group. We get on so well together and we're all following the boss's instructions. Now we have to make sure we start again after the break with the same intensity so that we can climb higher.”
