Eljif Elmas, who scored Napoli's second in their victory over Sampdoria at the Marassi on Sunday, cut a delighted figure when interviewed after the contest.
"I'm happy to have scored from the penalty spot. We were 11 lions today," he said.
"Winning today was very important and by no means easy. In fact, beating this Samp side was difficult because of the intensity they showed out there."
He added: "We took the field with great determination. We showed that we are a group and a family. We fought for every ball and also showed mental fortitude."
Asked about the roles he played in the match, Elmas commented: "I'd even play in goal for this jersey. I can take up several positions on the pitch and I will always give my best for the coach and the team".
On the penalty kick, he said: "I took it because I felt I would score. That's how it is in this team – whoever feels up for it can take it. What matters is that I scored and we got the win. I'm happy because it's my first penalty as a professional and it was key to the win."
