"In Scotland I played for the youth teams of a local club, before moving on to Glasgow Rangers. I then signed for Chelsea. From there I spent time at Norwich and Brighton before ending up at Napoli.
“I always played football with friends as a child. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were my idols, but when I realised that I’d be playing as a midfielder I started looking up to players such as Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Cesc Fabregas.
“The best feeling I’ve had so far in my career have been making my Premier League debut and my Scotland debut in the Euros against England.
“Scott joined the club a bit earlier than me – we’d communicated in the days leading up to my Napoli move. At my first time at the Maradona I experienced a crazy atmosphere and people were celebrating my arrival. My first night at the stadium was really special, also because we got a great result.
“My hobbies are listening to music and following golf and tennis, as well as football.
“Thanks to the Napoli fans for their warm welcome. Forza Napoli!"
