Napoli midfielder Gianluca Gaetano spoke to Radio Kiss Kiss on Friday, sharing his future ambitions and commitment to the club. “It’s not easy not playing much, but I’m very happy here and my future is at Napoli.
“We were disappointed with the outcome of the match at San Siro. We played really well and deserved more. We were just missing that all-important goal, in part on account of some great saves from Mike Maignan, but we’re feeling confident for the return leg.
“We are pumped up and happy to play in front of our fans at the Maradona. Victor Osimhen seemed very motivated and I think he’ll give us a real boost if he’s able to play. We can still get through to the next round.
“However, right now, our first thought is Verona. They’re a very good team who’ll come to the Maradona ready to battle. We want to be prepared because we need to keep going as we pursue our big goal.”
What would winning the Scudetto with the team you’ve followed your whole life mean to you?
“It’s a dream, an incredible feeling and I hope to experience it soon. There are still some games to play and we must focus on picking up points. It’s not time to start celebrating yet. Seeing the city painted blue makes me so happy.”
Have you been thinking about your future?
“I’m growing and I’m very happy here. I hope to be an Azzurri player for many more seasons. I hope my future is at Napoli.”
