SSC Napoli won a raft of awards at the Gran Galà del Calcio on Monday evening – the annual event organised by the Italian Footballers' Association to recognise the achievements of individuals and clubs in the previous season.
Napoli was named Team of the Year while Antonio Conte won Coach of the Year.
Scott McTominay took the Serie A Player of the Season gong and Amir Rrahmani won Defender of the Season.
Here are some extracts of their comments at the event.
Aurelio De Laurentiis: "We put together a strong team and we're continuing on this path. We've enjoyed some incredible moments in recent years and the two league titles are the result of hard work and love for this club.
“I'm convinced that we can have another excellent season this year. It's very even at the top of the table and I'm sure it will be a great show until the end.”
Antonio Conte: “The Scudetto we won last year was thrilling and something we fought for with every sinew in our bodies. We battled until the very last match and it was a deserved success.
“It's very close this season too: after 13 games there are several teams in the title hunt and we're among them. We want to defend the Scudetto shield on our shirts and we'll try to give 100% to succeed.”
Scott McTominay: “Winning this award is very special. It was an incredible season for me and especially for Napoli. I made the best choice and I want to thank the club, the coaching staff and my team-mates for helping me to settle in so well.
“Naples is a magical city. I feel this is the right place for me and I hope to achieve many more prestigious targets with this team.”
