The Napoli team took to the stage in Val di Sole to send a special message to fans. The side were greeted with affection and enthusiasm by the crowd.
The first to make an appearance was coach Luciano Spalletti, who gave an impassioned speech to those in attendance:
“Some big players have left, like Ospina, Insigne, Koulibaly, Ghoulam and Martens, taking great memories with them, but now others have arrived and will continue to arrive, bringing with them great enthusiasm. What we can’t do without is your passion, because it’s irreplaceable, something that money can’t buy. We are united, forza Napoli!”
Next up were the technical staff, followed by the entire squad in order of position: goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards. And finally, bringing up the rear were the medical staff.
All the Azzurri were welcomed with cheers and thunderous applause as they went onto the stage.
New arrival Khvicha Kvaratskhelia received a particularly warm welcome from the crowd. He communicated the exact pronunciation of his name as he took to the microphone, confirming that it is much easier to call him simply Kvara, as Spalletti and the team have already newly baptised him.
At the end of the evening, the entire side was cheered on by the crowd, with songs, applause and lots of passion.
The Champions League anthem, the famous song 'O Surdato 'nnammurato and legendary chant Un giorno all'improvviso played them out as they left the piazza under the Trentino stars.
