Juan Jesus joined Antonio Conte for Napoli's UEFA media conference the day before they face Sporting in Matchday 2 of the Champions League.
The defender explained our keen the Azzurri are to move on from their first league defeat of the season against AC Milan and start putting points on the board in Europe.
“We want to bounce back and this is a big game for us – we want to get our first Champions League win of the season,” he stressed.
“We know we're up against a team with real technical quality. We must use the ball well, make sure we don't let them have too many opportunities and try to attack them ourselves.
“Winning would be a great way for us to bounce back and start moving up the table. There's a long way to go with lots of games to play, but the more points we can get early on, the better we'll be able to continue.
“We were disappointed to lose at San Siro but if we analyse the game we weren't inferior to Milan – in fact, we were often in control. That gives us confidence and belief in our ability. However, we also need to be aware of our mistakes and try to improve our performance levels.
“We know people expect a lot of us and that's recognition for our far we've come as a team. We have the right mentality and experienced, quality players so I think we can go far both in Italy and in Europe.”
