Napoli defender Juan Jesus hailed his team’s strength to come through with a victory on Saturday against a dogged Spezia side. “It was an important win which counts for a lot in the league.
“These three points mean as much as the match against Liverpool because they give us a great boost. Last year, we lost against Spezia, but this time around, we fought right to the end to make up for it.
“It’s not easy to do well and play your game when a team shut up shop, especially when at home, but we must improve and grow when approaching this kind of game.
“The performance is not always important. Being sharp is often what counts. Raspa did well to keep believing right to the end today, but we have a group of young players who are enthusiastic, have real desire and lots of ambition.”
