Kim Min-jae was unveiled as a Napoli player in a press conference in Castel di Sangro. Here's some of what he had to say:
Do you feel the weight of responsibility for replacing Kalidou Koulibaly?
"To be honest I'm not Koulibaly's replacement. I'm just a defender who wants to give his all for his team. Koulibaly is a legend; I'm a young defender who has learnt a lot in a short space of time. I'm so excited to play here and I want to make a big impact this season in Serie A"
What impact has Luciano Spalletti and the squad had on you?
"I've already settled well into the group; there's a great atmosphere and I already feel part of the squad. I want to learn a lot from both the coach and my team-mates. I'm in a great team and I can learn so much here"
Why do you have a tattoo of the phrase "Carpe Diem"?
"Because you've got to approach every day with positive energy"
You're only the third-ever Korean to play in Serie A...
"I am indeed the third and I'm also the youngest. I'm not interested in comparisons, though. I want to focus on myself and give my all.
"This training camp has been a great experience for me. I feel really positive about my new adventure and I'm sure to learn lots from playing in Italy."
What are your main characteristics?
"I think I've got a lot of different ones. I prefer to play on the right side of defence, but I've also played on the left. My best asset is my ability to cover; I'm capable of doing this in every position. I'm also really solid at the back."
Have you felt a warm welcome from the Napoli fans?
"I'm starting to realise how passionate Napoli fans are. While replacing Koulibaly could be seen as pressure it's also a source of motivation.
"I know that there's a lot of expectation but I'm also looking forward to things. Playing in the Champions League is a source of great motivation"
