Napoli v Milan preview

Previous encounters

Napoli and AC Milan have faced off 87 times before in Naples, with the home side winning 33 (most recently a 2-1 in Serie A 2024/25), 25 draws (the last one a 2-2 in Serie A 2023/24) and 29 victories for the away team (the latest a 4-0 success in Serie A 2022/23).

Napoli's 2-1 triumph over the Rossoneri on 30 March 2025 was the only win in their last six home games against them, with three defeats and two draws in that time.

The recently deceased Giuseppe Savoldi is the joint top scorer in Napoli v Milan fixtures in all competitions with six goals, the same as Marco van Basten and Diego Armando Maradona.

Since 2015/16, the player from the current Napoli and Milan squads with the most goals in matches between these two teams (home and away) is Matteo Politano, with four goals.

Form

Napoli's clean sheet against Cagliari was their first in 11 matches in all competitions (eight in Serie A), since a 1-0 win at home to Sassuolo on 17 January.

Antonio Conte's side are now on a four-game winning streak in Serie A (Verona 1-2 Napoli, Napoli 2-1 Torino, Napoli 2-1 Lecce, Cagliari 0-1 Napoli) – their first such run since the opening four fixtures of this season (Sassuolo 0-2 Napoli, Napoli 1-0 Cagliari, Fiorentina 0-3 Napoli, Napoli 3-2 Pisa).

Only Inter (35) have earned more points at home than Napoli (34) in the current Serie A campaign and the Azzurri are the only team in Serie A 2025/26 yet to lose on home soil.

Roma (9) and Como (11) are the only sides to have conceded fewer league goals at home than Napoli this season (13, the same as Inter).

Meanwhile Milan have the second-best points haul on the road this term (32), after Inter (34), as well as the second-most goals scored away (25), again behind Inter (27), and no one has conceded fewer away goals than Massimiliano Allegri's men (10).

The Rossoneri are also the team with the fewest defeats away from home (one).

Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri are facing off for the 12th time in competitive matches. Conte has won six of those previous meetings, while Allegri has won three and there have been two draws.
