Match Preview: Udinese v Napoli

Udinese and Napoli have faced off 47 times in Friuli before, with 14 home wins (the most recent a 3-1 victory in 2015/16 Serie A), 22 draws (1-1 in Serie A 2023/24) and 11 away wins (1-3 in Serie A 2024/25).

The Azzurri have won six and drawn three since their last defeat in Udine in 2015/16, prior to which they hadn't won on Friulian soil in eight years – a 0-5 success in 2007/08 – drawing four and losing four.

Napoli celebrated winning the Scudetto in Udine on 4 May 2023, Matchday 33, when a 1-1 draw clinched the club's third league title after those won in 1987 and 1990. That day Sandi Lovric (13) and Victor Osimhen (52) were on the score sheet.

The Azzurri have scored on each of their last ten trips to Friuli (19 goals in total) since a Danilo strike sealed a 1-0 win for Udinese in September 2014.

Udinese and Napoli, together with Genoa, are two of the three teams who have conceded the most Serie A goals (five) between the 46th and 60th minute.

Udinese have conceded the most penalties in the 2025/26 Serie A: five, the same has Milan.

The side from Friuli have also conceded the joint most goals in the opening 15 minutes of matches: four, the same as Sassuolo, Fiorentina and Verona.

Kosta Runjaic and Antonio Conte have faced off as coaches twice before, with one win for Conte and one draw last season.

Jakub Piotrowski netted his first-ever Serie A goal last Monday, in Udinese's 2-1 defeat against Genoa

Nicolo Zaniolo has scored once against Napoli before, in a 2-1 win for Roma in the 2019/20 Serie A.

Rasmus Hojlund bagged his first Serie A double against Juventus last week. He now has four league goals to his name this term.
