Napoli were beaten 2-0 in Bologna on Sunday afternoon. The hosts broke the deadlock early in the second half through Thijs Dallinga and doubled their lead just past the hour mark with a Jhon Lucumi header to wrap up a 2-0 success at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

Boss Antonio Conte shared his thoughts after the match:
“I’m disappointed with the defeat, but also with the feeling I had of seeing little positive energy. They had more strength and enthusiasm than us. This is the fifth defeat of our season and it’s a situation that must lead us to reflect.

“It’s right to be concerned at this point. We must understand that it’s never by chance when you fail to achieve the results you expect. Clearly, the main responsibility is mine. Perhaps I wasn’t able to transmit the right energy or maybe some players picked up less of it.

“Now we need to analyse this moment together and try to rediscover the strength and determination that have defined us in the past.”

Captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo reflected on the performance:
“We’re disappointed. We’re struggling at the moment and lacked the right spirit, strength and intensity. We didn’t have the sharpness that we needed.”

“During the international break, we need to work on regaining the solidity that has set us apart. We’ll work with the coach to pick ourselves straight back up and get back on track.”
