Napoli were unable to find a way past Como as they were held to a goalless draw at the Stadio Maradona. Vanja Milinkovic Savic proved decisive as he kept out Alvaro Morata's penalty midway through the first half – his second spot-kick save in as many games, having denied Francesco Camarda in Lecce.
This was Antonio Conte's take on his team's display:
“It was a very gritty match played at a high tempo. They had the chance to score from the penalty but after that we gave nothing away.
“We were better in the second half and I think we probably deserved more considering our overall play. We should give credit to Como too, though. They might not be 'big' club but they're a quality side – a good thing for Italian football and they deserve to be where they are in the league.
“I'm happy with the courage and character we showed. The draw is not a bad result and I'm pleased with the lads' effort. It was a proper performance. I congratulated my players because they stood up to be counted.”
Milinkovic Savic had the following to say after his penalty heroics:
“Obviously I do prepare for penalties by studying opponents but it's more about your instinct in the moment. I picked a side, as I did against Lecce, and it went well.
“We weren't able to win tonight but we're slowly getting everyone back. [Romelu] Lukaku was with us today too, which is great for morale. Hopefully he'll be playing again soon.”
