Napoli were beaten by a single goal at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino as Giovanni Simeone's first-half strike helped Torino edge to victory.

Noa Lang thought he'd earned a point deep into stoppage time but his goal was ruled out for offside.

Antonio Conte gave his analysis after the game:

“We were too much of a soft touch in the first half today. It was almost as if we scored the goal ourselves. Credit to Torino but we got our approach wrong, and our intensity especially.

“We have to focus on our work. Our season will depend on how well we develop our players. Playing two games every week means we need to ready to go again immediately. There's no time to let up.

“We must be patient, focus on our next Champions League game and try to improve in all areas as soon as possible.”

Sam Beukema also shared his thoughts:

“We had the ball the whole time but couldn't finish. Conte is right when he says we needed more determination.

“We need to be more aggressive and play with more intensity. We must keep working away. We have a united, close-knit group and we want to bounce straight back.”
