Napoli left the Stadio Olimpico with a single point after Roma found an equaliser in stoppage time.
The Azzurri took the lead in the first half when Leonardo Spinazzola ran onto a ball played over the top and lobbed the onrushing keeper.
However, Angelino's volley two minutes into injury time earned the hosts a share of the spoils.
Antonio Conte offered the following analysis after the final whistle:
"It's a shame we conceded that late equaliser but a draw away to Roma is not to be sniffed at. We've won seven and drawn one of our last eight, which means we've been on a great run.
“We analysed the situation that led to their goal. I also showed them Angelino's goal against Eintracht from a similar position many times. We knew how we needed to set up in the box but unfortunately we lacked composure on that occasion. The way the Roma players celebrated the draw shows that Napoli are a feared team again – that says a lot about what we're doing here.
“Roma didn't cause any major problems for us. We gave very little away and we were in control of the match. It's a pity about the goal because we could have done much better. We needed to pay more attention to the finer details but these things can happen and we should take them as a warning to help us improve. We're disappointed but we're looking forward.
“Generally I'm pleased with how we're doing. If someone had offered me seven points against Atalanta, Juventus and Roma, I'd have taken it immediately. We'll take this point because it's another one on the board and we'll keep working with the same intensity. These lads are doing magnificently. They deserve so much and we want to continue on this path.”
Goalscorer Leonardo Spinazzola gave his own take on the game:
"We're gutted and for a few days we're going to be disappointed about wasting the chance to win another game. It hurts to concede so late on but a point against Roma – who were on a winning run at home – is still a good result.
“I'm happy to have scored, though I'd be much happier if we'd won. The joy I felt for my goal kind of disappeared when they equalised at the end. In any case we have to look forward now and focus on the next game.”
