Walter Mazzarri was pleased with his side's performance as Napoli came from behind to beat Salernitana at the Maradona.
“The lads showed the right spirit today,” the coach began in the wake of Saturday's 2-1 victory.
“The training camp we had during the week was useful to pull everyone together and get playing our game again.
“It was a difficult, hard-fought match. Salernitana defended well and played on the counter. They set themselves up well and although we were the ones in control of the game they managed to punish us on their first real break forward.
“It was quite a blow but we stayed calm and didn't let our heads drop. We carried on playing our game and overall we deserved to win.
“I think it was a real team performance. The subs gave us a big hand and everyone played their part in getting the win.
“We kept the ball nearly the whole time and fashioned multiple chances. I saw this team showing what they can do.
“Sadly the bad game we had in Turin affected the mood and the whole situation we're in because before then we played well against Monza.
“We stayed compact today, barely gave our opponents a sniff and created lots. They scored a fantastic goal but we stuck together and managed to turn it around.
“Now we have the Super Cup but we'll think about that tomorrow. We'll enjoy this victory today because it was vital for us to get the three points in what is a delicate moment for us.”
