Alex Meret took some time out after the 2-2 stalemate with Roma to reflect on what could have been.
“It’s a real shame to concede right at the end. We’re so disappointed because we deserved more.
“We managed to turn the game around after dominating in the first half. Unfortunately, we didn’t convert many chances based on the quality of what we created.
“This year is so different from last season. We’re being made to pay dearly for our mistakes, but I must say that the level of commitment in the team has always been so high.
“We’re pleased with president [Aurelio] De Laurentiis’s kind words at the end of the game because we gave everything out on the pitch as a team.
“Now we need to finish the season as well as we can and then think about the future. Personally, I always give 200% whenever I put on this jersey and I hope to repay the faith that the coach and the club have shown in me.”
