The Azzurri came home this weekend as newly crowned champions of Italy and they were hoping to give their fans even more to cheer about at the Maradona on Sunday by bagging another win against Fiorentina. And that’s exactly what they did.

One goal was enough for Luciano Spalletti’s men to seal the win against the Viola and it was none other than striking sensation Victor Osimhen who netted the winner. The Nigerian forward had gone close earlier in the game but saw his first penalty saved by Pietro Terracciano on 48 minutes and another effort hit the bar. However, he got another chance from the spot on 74 minutes after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia drew a foul in the box and Osimhen made no mistake the second time around.

The result marks Napoli’s 26th win of the season, with no team registering more victories in Europe this season. The champions sit on 83 points atop the table while the others are all on less than 70. It’s a historic moment for the club and there is no better place to celebrate than in front of adoring fans at the Maradona.
