Napoli did not experience a single defeat in the opening 15 games of the season, thanks to 13 victories (against Verona, Monza, Lazio, Spezia, Milan, Torino, Cremonese, Bologna, Roma, Sassuolo, Atalanta, Empoli and Udinese) and two draws (against Fiorentina and Lecce).
Only in one previous season in the club’s history had Napoli gone unbeaten in the first 15 games of a league campaign, which was back in 1989/90 en route to the second Scudetto title.
