Khvicha Kvaratskhelia set the Maradona alight on Sunday afternoon after scoring a beautiful late goal to give the Azzurri a 2-1 win over Verona.
Despite multiple attempts in the first half, Verona’s goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo continued to deny the hosts’ efforts. The first half came to a close with both sides still goalless.
It was the visitors to open the scoring when Diego Coppola found the breakthrough in the 72nd minute.
Cyril Ngonge came off the bench in the 62nd minute and not long after, scored his first goal wearing the Napoli jersey.
However, it was Kvara’s last-minute goal that sealed the deal for Napoli. The Georgian fired a shot from outside the box that Montipo had no chance of saving.
A great home win for the Azzurri and another three points in the bag.
