Cyril Ngonge had mixed emotions after opening his Napoli account but having to settle for a draw against Genoa.
The Belgian came off the bench and struck a late equaliser for the Azzurri as it finished 1-1 at the Stadio Maradona.
“I can't be happy with my goal because I wanted to help us win the game and not just draw,” he explained after the final whistle.
“I'm sorry for the fans as they got behind us and deserved to win. We're putting everything into it, working really hard in training, and I'm sure we can climb back up the table.
“The dressing room is united. We're all behind the coach and convinced we can still finish fourth.
“We have the Champions League to look forward to now and we want to put on a great performance – for our fans too.”
