Mathias Olivera was officially unveiled as a Napoli player at Castel di Sangro and had the following to say in his first press conference:
"I'm ready to give my all for my team. I'm at an internationally-renowned club and I'm very ambitious. I want to do well and make both my team-mates and the supporters happy.
"It's really exciting to represent Napoli. I've only been here for a short while but I feel so fired up and integrated into the squad. Like any Napoli fan I want the club to do well. I'm an adaptable player and I'm known for being generous on the pitch. I'll be sure to give my all."
You'll be wearing number 17...
"I'm aware that it's Marek Hamsik's old number so I'll try to do it justice. I know how important this number is for Napoli fans."
What's your aim for your first season in Italy?
"I'm aiming for the same things as the team. We want to get points on the board and win games; we're keen to get off to a good start and then we'll see what we can do. I'd love to be called up by my country and go to the World Cup."
What are your early impressions of Luciano Spalletti?
They've been great. He's been keeping a close eye on me and has helped with my confidence. As for the squad and coaching staff as a whole, everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet and they've welcomed me in with open arms."
What's your preferred formation?
"I'm capable of adapting to whatever. The full back role is different to others because you need to be powerful and fighting fit. I want to show what I'm capable of; I'm willing to sacrifice myself for my team-mates and the coach."
Thoughts on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia:
"He's a top player, blessed with a lot of talent. I'm delighted to be playing on the same flank as him."
Thoughts on the new Napoli shirt:
"I love it; I tried it a few days ago and I'm a big fan."
