Victor Osimhen was keen to share the plaudits after scoring twice in Napoli's opening-day win over Frosinone.
The Azzurri came from behind to triumph 3-1, with the Nigerian displaying his usual aplomb to net the team's second and third goals.
“We've made an excellent start to the season – credit to my team-mates,” he said after the final whistle.
“It was so important to start the season on the right foot. I'm happy with my goals and the three points. It was a deserved win. We need to keep going now.
“It means a lot to me to know the boss and the lads believe in me. I'll give my heart and soul for Napoli. We have lots of leaders here and we all want to take responsibility and express our full potential this season. We're a close-knit group and that counts for a lot.”
