Matteo Politano insisted that Napoli shouldn't have lost to Real Madrid on the balance of play but they can take comfort from a very positive display against the 14-time Champions League winners
“We're really gutted because we didn't deserve to lose today,” the Italy forward began after Los Blancos squeezed out a 3-2 win at the Stadio Maradona.
“We matched Real over the 90 minutes and in the second half we bossed proceedings.
“There was a 20-minute spell when we had them pegged back in their area. Sadly we were unable to make the most of the two or three really good chances we had when we were on top.
“In any case we showed we're capable of producing a big performance against a fantastic team and we can take strength and confidence from that going forward.”
