Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Matteo Politano both played for Italy on Monday evening as the Azzurri edged a nine-goal thriller against Israel in World Cup qualifying.

Politano's volley from Mateo Retegui's assist in the 58th minute gave Gennaro Gattuso's side a 3-2 lead.

They then went 4-2 up but two late goals by Israel saw the sides head into stoppage time level at 4-4 before Sandro Tonali snatched a 91st minute winner.

Politano was substituted off on 68 minutes while Di Lorenzo played the entire match.
