Matteo Politano gave the Azzurri their second goal of the match against Monza on Sunday. Here’s what the winger had to say after the game.
“We responded as great players do, and we showed how good we are. I’m happy because I really wanted to do well today. The goal was important because it gave us the momentum we needed to get back in the game.
“Unfortunately, we’ve had too many ups and downs this season. We had a talking to during the break because we needed a bit of a wakeup call. We didn’t play the first half as well as we could have.
“After the break, we showed the quality we have in this group. I’m happy for the fans because they deserve these results and these performances. Now we’ve got to try and win as many games as possible because there are still lots of points to play for.
“I dedicate my goal to my daughter. She came to watch me today and I’m chuffed I could make her happy.”
