“It’s a final match, and as such, we are ready both in terms of motivation and focus. We underperformed against Bologna in the league and we hope we can do better in this competition.” Matteo Politano held a press conference ahead of the Italian Super Cup final.
“It will certainly be a high-profile match with many individual battles. It will require great intensity and I think it will be anyone’s game, where both teams will try to dictate the tempo.
“Even when things weren’t going our way, we managed to be competitive again. Our squad is great both on and off the pitch. We are a close-knit group. As a team, we can adopt multiple tactical systems. What’s most important is that we are in top physical shape.
“It’s an honour for me to play for this team. I’m happy to make a contribution either as a winger or as a wing-back. What matters is that we can give it our all as a team to try to win the trophy.”
