Matteo Politano turned out for Italy as they defeated Northern Ireland 2-0 in the World Cup play-off semi-finals on Thursday.

The Azzurri winger was involved in the build-up to the move that led to Sandro Tonali scoring the opener. He was then subbed off after 82 minutes.

Italy will now take on Wales or Bosnia in the play-off final next Tuesday, with a place at this summer's showpiece event on the line.
