Reflecting on Napoli’s success over Union Berlin on Tuesday evening, Matteo Politano said: “It was a hard-fought victory, but we really wanted it. It could be crucial to us advancing.
“It was a tough match due to the rain and the fact we were up against a physical team that play as a tight unit.
“It wasn’t easy finding a goal, in part because of the conditions on the pitch but also because they didn’t allow us any space in front of goal. In the second half we were more organised and found the path to success.
“These three points are so important in this group stage. Now we need to carry on like this. We’re finding our form again and we’re confident for the rest of the season.”
