Giacomo Raspadori was quick to rank his deft header in the first half of the 6-1 demolition of Ajax as “the best goal I’ve scored so far this season” on a memorable European night.
“It was an important goal and also a difficult one. I’m pleased because I’m making good runs into the box. It’s down to the confidence shown in me. Both the boss and the club really wanted me and my performances are certainly connected to the team overall.
“This is a group of players who help one another and that’s now bearing its fruit. We have to move ahead with the same team spirit and bravery that we’ve been showing and that we displayed on the pitch tonight.
“We’re showing what we can do. We’re all at the coach’s disposal and this is the path to take if we want to keep improving. Now we need to reset after today’s game and think about our next one straight away.”
