Giacomo Raspadori spoke alongside Rudi Garcia at the press conference held on the eve of Napoli v Union Berlin. The Napoli forward shared Garcia’s desire to consolidate the Azzurri’s position in Champions League Group C.
“We must get off to a strong start tomorrow and take control of proceedings from the off."
“We know we’re in a good place and we have to strengthen our position in the table in order to reach our goal of qualifying.
“In this regard, the match against Union Berlin can send us in the right direction. We have to give it our all from the get-go and then manage the match in the correct way.”
You’re currently on top form, maybe the best form you’ve been in at Napoli.
“I think consistency is fundamental for any player, not just a forward. Playing more frequently helps you stay sharp and gives you confidence in your abilities.
“For a forward, scoring goals undoubtedly builds your confidence and your belief. I hope I can continue to do my best and work hard to help the team.”
You’ve had a lot more playing time under Garcia than last year.
“He’s given me a lot of confidence and has placed a lot of trust in me since he’s been here. That’s important for a footballer. Being picked regularly by the coach gives you a boost.
“We’ve got to maintain a positive mindset. No one is a guaranteed starter, and no one is back-up to anyone else. We are all an important part of the group. Together we can show how good this team really is.”
