Napoli are determined to keep up the winning habit they acquired last season and try to repeat their success this term, says Giovanni Simeone.
The Argentine was speaking after helping himself to two goals in the Azzurri's 4-0 friendly victory over Hatayspor in Castel di Sangro.
“We have a top-quality squad and we want to repeat the fantastic season we had last year," he commented after Saturday's game at the Stadio Patini.
“I'm happy because I want to show I have a role to play in this team, even in pre-season. [Rudi] Garcia congratulated us and motivates us every day by repeating that we don't play with 11 players but with the whole squad.
“We had an amazing season last time out and we know this is the start of a new adventure. When you pull on the Napoli shirt, it makes you want to give everything for the team and the city. We want to maintain the winning mentality we acquired last season.
“I've always wanted to play for Napoli and I thank the president for the supportive messages he sent me. I want to keep repaying him on the pitch.”
What formation do you prefer?
"Garcia wants us to be aggressive at all times. We can play in a 4-3-3 or with different ideas – the main thing is having a strong mentality and being ready to adapt to any situation to get the best result possible.”
