Napoli were held to a 1-1 draw by Lecce on Wednesday evening and coach Luciano Spalletti shared his thoughts on how his team performed. “We were lacking quality and a clinical edge in front of goal.
“The overall performance was good and the team fought hard. However, we weren’t disciplined when we carried the ball forward and we tried to force things when we needed to show more composure.
“I made six changes compared to the first games because we have a large squad and it’s not possible to go into such a busy schedule playing the same men every time.
“I have many great players and all of them need to work hard to be available for the many games that we have in quick succession in the league and Champions League.
“We definitely struggled to move the ball around quickly in the first half, but when Stanislav Lobotka came on at half-time, we controlled the game better. However, I’ll say it again that the overall performance was not bad. We must be more convincing and clinical in the final third when we need to have that decisive quality.”
