"The training camp went very well. The environment was entirely dedicated to helping us and getting us properly organised. We managed to do the work we wanted to," Luciano Spalletti commented on the team's training camp, as he shared his thoughts after Napoli's latest friendly.
"Tonight, Espanyol tightened up in defence, committed a lot of fouls, and adopted a very aggressive approach, which gave us the chance to train in an environment akin to league competition. I think we've reached the right point of our conditioning to kick off the league season," he added.
"Obviously there are adjustments to be made and some things to sort out. But our improvement should come gradually, especially as the season progresses. I am satisfied with this pre-season and we will be ready for our opener on Monday in Verona."
