Luciano Spalletti was a bundle of emotions as he commented on Napoli's title triumph, obtained with a 1-1 draw at Udinese.
"When I joined this club, I did it to win the Scudetto. After the string of excellent coaches Napoli had before me, there was only one thing I could aim for and that was victory.
"Seeing the Neapolitan people celebrate is a feeling impossible to put into words. You feel their passion and their love on your skin and you feel the responsibility that comes with this special jersey. These people have given me the greatest joy today.
"We've had a magnificent campaign and in times of difficulty we always responded. I feel more relaxed now. I and we have succeeded in writing a page of history for this city.
"People said I didn't believe we could win. Last year everyone criticised me and said I'd set the bar too high when I spoke about trying to win the Scudetto. I did it to get the most out of my players and to build a winning mentality, which we saw this year.
“This title success is dedicated first of all to the fans, then to the club, the president and everyone who works at Napoli on a daily basis. After that, it's for my family and my daughter Matilde, who is a big fan. Finally, I'd like to spare a special thought for my brother Marcello.”
