SSC Napoli, in collaboration with Azienda Napoletana Mobilità, have chosen the Chiaia metro station as the location for the club’s official team photo for the 2024/25 Serie A season. The event is brought to life for the first time through a video which celebrates the increasingly inseparable bond between the Club and the City.
The station is a unique place which blends modern efficiency with the timeless beauty of Naples, enriched by works of art that reflect the history and culture of the city.
The Stazioni dell’Arte project established on the Naples metro is of the most significant and innovative public art and architecture projects carried out over the last twenty years. Internationally renowned artists and architects have transformed these public transport spaces into underground monuments, turning them into iconic places of contemporary Naples, where art and beauty become an integral part of everyday life.
Designed by Uberto Siola, Chiaia station, located on line 6, is a masterpiece of underground architecture. It’s over 40 meters deep, and thanks to its spectacular transparent roof it offers travellers and commuters a unique experience as they descend to platform level, taking in the gradual change of natural light.
Meanwhile Peter Greenaway, working in tandem with the architectural project, has created a seamless artistic expression that accompanies users on an evocative journey from the heights of Olympus to the depths of the Underworld. Greenaway's work is inspired by the classical Greco-Roman world, which is deeply rooted in the history of Naples, and the entire experience is enriched with allusions to the symbolic and mythological.
