Sport as an opportunity for growth, inclusion, and the creation of new prospects. These are the values behind the collaboration between SSC Napoli and Twinning Project ETS, as part of a programme dedicated to the social reintegration of people in detention.
Twinning Project is an organisation that develops projects in partnership with sports clubs and correctional institutions, bringing the experience and expertise of the football world to programmes designed for people in detention. Founded in the United Kingdom in 2018, the programme is now active in several countries and has already led to partnerships with professional clubs, including in Italy.
The initiative will take place in Naples, with the support of Enel Cuore, the philanthropic organisation of the Enel Group, at the “Pasquale Mandato” Prison in Secondigliano, with the involvement of the Campania Regional Ombudsman for Prisoners. The project will combine football activities with training sessions focused on personal growth and the development of skills that are also valuable beyond the pitch.
SSC Napoli will take part in the programme through qualified coaches from its Youth Sector, who will receive specific training in the methodology developed by Twinning Project before the activities begin.
The sessions will combine theory and practice and will be built around some of the core principles of team sport, including communication, collaboration, leadership, individual responsibility and the ability to face challenges and find solutions. The programme combines football coaching content with modules dedicated to the development of personal and interpersonal skills.
Through this initiative, SSC Napoli strengthens its commitment to social responsibility and puts the Club’s expertise at the service of the local community, supporting a project that recognises the important educational and social role of sport.
